Getting Started

You’re here because something about Tria Via resonated. Maybe you’re tired of feeling disconnected at Mass. Maybe you want Scripture to feel less foreign. Maybe you just sense there’s more—and you’re ready to find it.

Good. Let’s walk through what happens next.

The Weekly Rhythm

Tria Via follows a simple cycle anchored to the Sunday Mass readings:

📖 Friday: Prepare (3–5 minutes)

A new post goes live each Friday based on the upcoming Sunday’s readings.

What to do:

  • Read the post (here on the site or in your inbox)
  • Notice the anchor verse—one line from the Gospel to carry all week
  • Skim the reflection prompts—you don’t have to answer them now. Just let them settle in your awareness.
  • Read the practice suggestions — There are two: one for Mass, one for the week after

You’re not trying to memorize anything. You’re just priming yourself to notice.

✝️ Saturday/Sunday: Attend Mass

Go to Mass as you normally would. But now you’ve prepared.

  • Listen for the anchor verse when the Gospel is proclaimed. Does it land differently because you’ve been sitting with it?
  • Try the “At Mass” practice — It’ll be small. Something like: “Notice your posture during the Gospel” or “Make eye contact during the sign of peace.”

You’re not performing. You’re noticing.

🕊️ Sunday–Thursday: Live With It

This is where the work happens—not in a stressful way, but in the way a seed quietly grows underground.

  • Carry the anchor verse through your week. Say it in the morning. Let it surface when you’re stuck in traffic or frustrated with a coworker.
  • Try the weekly practice — Again, it’s small. Maybe 30 seconds to 2 minutes a day. Something like: “Pause three seconds before responding when interrupted” or “Say the anchor verse before checking your phone.”
  • Journal with the prompts if you want — But you don’t have to. Sometimes just letting the questions sit in the back of your mind is enough.

You’re not trying to be perfect. You’re trying to be present.

🔄 Next Friday: Begin Again

New post. New Gospel. New invitation.

The rhythm repeats. Over time, these small practices compound—the Mass becomes richer, Scripture becomes familiar, your interior life has language.

Three Ways to Engage (Choose Your Level)

Not everyone has the same capacity each week—and your capacity will change week to week. That’s not failure. That’s being human. Here are three levels of engagement—choose what fits your life right now:

🌱 Gentle (Minimum Viable Practice)

  • Read Friday’s post
  • Carry the anchor verse
  • Show up to Mass on Saturday or Sunday

That’s it. If that’s all you do, you’re still deepening your relationship with Scripture and the liturgy.

🌿 Steady (The Full Rhythm)

  • Read Friday’s post
  • Carry the anchor verse
  • Practice the weekly micro-practice (Mon–Thurs)
  • Journal one reflection prompt after Sunday Mass

This is the “default” rhythm. Most people will find this sustainable week after week.

🌳 Deep (For Spacious Weeks)

  • Read Friday’s post
  • Carry the anchor verse
  • Practice the weekly micro-practice daily
  • Journal 2–3 reflection prompts throughout the week
  • Share one insight with a friend, small group, or in the comments

This is for weeks when you have margin. Don’t make this the expectation—make it the aspiration when life allows.

📝 Optional: The Journal Companion

Some people reflect best by typing. Others need pen and paper. If you’re someone who thinks with your hands, the Tria Via Journal provides:

  • Structured space for weekly reflection prompts
  • Practice tracking pages
  • Room to notice patterns across liturgical seasons

Available on Amazon:

Australia | Canada | Italy | United Kingdom | United States

Not required—the blog posts work perfectly on their own. But if journaling deepens your practice, this is here for you.
